Loren R. Cook
CEO / Attorney, CPA
The founding shareholder of the firm, Loren received his B.A. and M.A. in Accounting from New Mexico State University and a J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law. His 20-plus years of international and domestic experience play a major role in our approach to tax and business consulting services. By using coordinated legal planning, tax planning, and business risk management solutions, Loren and his team can anticipate opportunities and develop innovative, flexible solutions for our clients.
Anthony Choueifati graduated from the University of Houston with a B.A. in Economics and Psychology and from South Texas College of Law with a J.D. After founding a successful Austin practice in 2006, Anthony merged his existing practice with Cook Legal Group, LLLP in 2012. Anthony zealously advocates for Cook Legal Group, LLLP’s clients, focusing his practice in the areas of civil litigation defense, contracts, franchising, business entity selection, M&A and estate planning.
Attorney / CPA
Gene McCain obtained a B.B.A. in Accounting from Hardin-Simmons University and a law degree from South Texas College. In addition to being an attorney, Gene is also a CPA. He has managed a variety of areas including federal and state taxation planning including estate planning. He has an extensive background dealing with the IRS and state agencies in tax controversy matters. His experience includes tax returns, audits, workouts, litigation and appeals.
Nathaniel D. Cho
Nathan received his B.A. in Rhetoric & Writing and a Minor in Spanish from the University of Texas at Austin, and his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School in South Bend, Indiana. He is currently pursuing his L.L.M./Master of Laws in Tax at the University of Houston Law Center. While attending Notre Dame Law School, Nathan worked for various corporations’ in-house legal departments in New York City, San Francisco, and Chicago. His work at Cook Legal Group LLLP includes corporate entity structuring, tax controversy, estate and tax planning, and general business contract review. In his spare time, Nathan enjoys hanging out with friends and family, watching sports, and going fishing.
Julie facilitates corporate communications and organizes special events for Cook Legal Group, LLLP. She received her B.A. in Elementary Education from Nicholls State University. Prior to joining Cook Legal Group, LLLP, she spent 15 years working in the hotel industry.
Susan coordinates international services and logistics for Cook Legal Group, LLLP. She received her A.B. Economics degree from the University of Santo Tomas and an M.B.A. Honors degree from the Ateneo de Manila University in the Philippines. Prior to joining Cook Legal Group, LLLP, she held various coordinating roles and administrative functions for an international development bank based in Manila.
Paula provides accounting support to the legal and tax teams.
Ramiro Benitez provides communication and administrative support for Cook Legal Group, LLLP. He received an AAS in both Graphic Design and Photography.
Kristy is Cook Legal Group’s head receptionist and provides administrative support services to all team members. She studied Interior Design, Art, and Technology at Texas State University. In her free time, Kristy enjoys working on her private pilot’s license and participating in philanthropy work with the Commemorative Air Force.
